Executive Management:
Michael K. Freedman is the Managing Partner and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Akida Holdings, LLC. He is primarily responsible for the company's strategic development and partner relationships. Previously, Mr. Mr. Freedman was a co-founder of InMotion Pictures, a specialty retailer focused on portable entertainment goods and services where he acted as the Company's Chief Executive Officer from inception until late summer of 2005. In this capacity, Mr. Freedman lead the effort to secure $30 million in venture financing, oversaw the growth of the Company from a single retail store to one that operated in 50 locations across North America and Canada and posted annual revenue of over $40 million. In his capacity as CEO, Mr. Freedman guided the strategic development efforts of the Company, oversaw a workforce of nearly 300 employees and acted as one of two key strategic architects for its acquisition of Altitunes LLP. Under his leadership, InMotion established itself as the leading entertainment retailer in airports across North America and was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of America's fastest growing private companies. Prior to InMotion, Mr. Freedman was an Associate in the High Yield and Acquisition Finance groups at Chase Securities, Inc. (JP Morgan Chase) where he participated in $3 billion dollars in completed financings. Mr. Freedman received a BS degree in Finance from the University of Florida in 1991 and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University in 1996.
Tareque Pirzada serves as President of International Business for Akida Holdings LLC. As a part of this responsibility he is charged with the identification of potential business partners for The Company, communicating partner needs to corporate marketing and operations staff and ensuring the successful deployment of Akida's AiroCide technology in new markets. Before joining Akida he served as Vice President of Business Development for Interconnect Network Systems USA where he established the consulting division to serve IBM, Lucent Technologies, AT&T, Microsoft, BELLSouth and HP. Prior to Interconnect, Mr. Pirzada served as Chairman and CEO of E-Global Business, Inc a firm he grew from a startup into a multi-million dollar company. Prior to E-Global, Mr. Pirzada acted as General Manager of Maybach International Group where he guided the enhancement of the product portfolio and grew income by over $200 million in less than 36 months. Mr. Pirzada is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi and Arabic, which have contributed to The Company's success in Asia and the Middle East. He holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from The University of Central Florida.
Dave Heffner is a Partner and serves as the President of Global Healthcare of Akida Holdings, LLC. Mr. Heffner is responsible for actively pursuing business development opportunities and applied technology applications throughout the healthcare market. Previously, he has held the respective tiles of President, General Manager and Chief Sales & Marketing Executive to several international and US based and medical device manufacturers. These companies include: Air Products & Chemicals, Narco Scientific, and two separate entities Technicare and Critikon within the Johnson& Johnson Family of Companies. Prior to joining KES, Mr. Heffner developed a new wholly owned subsidiary - Coloplast A/S, for a Danish medical device company. In this role he acted as the initial executive selected to lead the growth of this enterprise from start up pre-revenue ($0) to over $140 million. Mr. Heffner accomplished this tremendous growth from both internal growth initiatives and 3 key strategic acquisitions. Mr. Heffner received his BS Engineering cum laude from Widner University, Chester, PA in 1970. He also completed the postgraduate program at the Insead Graduate School in Fountainbleau, France.
David E. Kight is a Partner and serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Akida Holdings, LLC. He is primarily responsible for operational development and execution, manufacturing, and engineering. Previously, Mr. Kight was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of InMotion Pictures, a $40 million plus annual revenue specialty retailer focused on portable entertainment goods and services. Prior to InMotion, Mr. Kight was President of Kight's Printing and Office Products, overseeing an organization of 100 employees, with annual revenues of $15 million. Mr. Kight serves on the Board of Trustees of Jacksonville Country Day School as a member of the Finance Committee and on the Advisory Board of American Enterprise Bank of Florida. Mr. Kight received a BS in Finance from the University of Florida in 1988.
John J. Hayman, Jr. - Is a Partner and serves as the Chief Scientific Officer of Akida Holdings, LLC. John's biochemistry background and product engineering and development experience directs the research and development efforts for the company. Prior to Akida, Mr. Hayman was the founder and Chairman of an Akida Holdings affiliate company, KES Science & Technology. Prior to his work with Kes Science, John built KES Air into the premier perishables preservation technology company in the world where they were a leader in automatic produce misting and related products and services. He holds four US patents for products and technologies in these areas and currently has several patents pending. Mr. Hayman received his Bachelors of Science from Farleigh Dickinson University in 1967.
Barney E. Freedman is a Partner and serves as the Executive Vice President of Marketing of Akida Holdings, LLC. He is primarily responsible for Akida's, marketing and related branding execution as well as key business development and strategic partnerships. Previously, Mr. Freedman was co-founder and Executive Vice President of InMotion Pictures, one of the faster growing specialty retailers in the United States. Mr. Freedman received a BS in Finance from the University of Florida in 1996.
John J. Hayman, III. is a Partner and serves as the Executive Vice President of Research & Development of Akida Holdings, LLC. Mr. Hayman focuses on product development, testing and improvement. He is also President of Kes Science & Technology, an Akida related company. Prior to becoming Kes Science's President, Mr. Hayman performed various executive management functions including serving as the company's Controller and Executive Vice President. Mr. Hayman played an integral role in acquiring the original licensing rights to the NASA funded AiroCide technology. Mr. Hayman received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia in 1992 and is a certified public accountant.
Scott Hayman is a Partner and serves as the Executive Vice President of Scientific Support of Akida Holdings, LLC. In this capacity, Mr. Hayman is responsible for all mission critical catalyst production and oversight. Mr. Hayman is also Vice President of Kes Science & Technology, an Akida affiliate company. Prior to Akida, Mr. Hayman performed various management functions in such diverse fields as business operations, accounting, logistics, and computer programming. Mr. Hayman received his BBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Georgia in 1997.
Michael D. Johnson serves as Vice President of Operations and Logistics for Akida Holdings, LLC. He is responsible for managing Akida's worldwide AiroCide supply chain and logistics systems. In this role, Mr. Johnson manages all manufacturing relationships, processes, and quality control procedures with numerous sub-assembly and final assembly facilities. Additionally, Mr. Johnson oversees the logistics system for AiroCide product as well as the customer support component. Previously, Mr. Johnson was a career Naval Officer tasked with the management of a maritime strike helicopter squadron and its 25 person detachment of Maintenance and Quality Control Technicians. In this role, Mr. Johnson was responsible for the utilization of over 50 million dollars worth of aircraft, an 8 million dollar parts inventory, and a $1 million fuel budget in order to support naval operations at sea. Mr. Johnson earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Elmhurst College in 1990.
Fred Page is a partner and serves as Vice President of Global Marketing for Akida Holdings LLC. Mr. Page brings over forty years of international marketing experience in both technology and consumer products to the company. He has served in senior management capacities with several Fortune 500 companies and held global market responsibilities for a broad range of technology products. Prior to joining Akida Holdings LLC, Mr. Page served as Senior Vice President, Strategy for an international advertising and marketing firm, received his BA in Communications from San Francisco State University, is a past president of the Jacksonville Chapter of the American Advertising Federation and has been recognized in Who's Who in American Business.
